Residents of Beirut were told to evacuate earlier today as Israel infiltrated Lebonese radio and issued warnings of upcoming strikes on Hezbollah financial arm. Hundreds living near 22 sites in Lebanon were instructed to leave their homes and seek shelter as Israel prepared to attack specific locations. All of the targets were said to be tied to Hezbollah’s financial operation known as the Al-Qard Al-Hassan Association.
The IDF (Israeli Defense Force) used Lebanon’s own radio waves to issue warnings to innocent cilvilians who could be caught in the military strike, “The IDF is targeting Hezbollah military positions in your village and does not intend to harm civilians. If you are in or near a Hezbollah-used building, you must evacuate the village by at least one kilometer until further notice. Staying near Hezbollah operatives or facilities puts your life in danger.”
In a post on X, the IDF shared, “For the past week, sirens have been sounding in northern Israel nonstop. For the past 378 days, Hezbollah has been terrorizing Israeli civilians. This is why we are operating— to restore security to our civilians.”
Shortly after the military action, Lebanon state media reported at least four Israeli strikes were successful against financial associations that were connected to Hezbollah. The strikes were aimed at over a dozen buildings in the southern suburbs of Beirut. At least three Al Qard Al Hassan locations were hit in the attack.
Hezbollah has fired at least 200 rockets at Israel today, causing minimal damage but no injuries. In anticipation of retaliation against Israel from Iran, the United States has deployed its THAAD (Terminal High Altitude Area Defense) interceptor to Israel. At least one hundred US troops are needed to operate the system, which is now fully operational. It can accurately hit targets at a range of up to 124 miles.
